Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of PromptForge ("the App"), a mobile application available on the Apple App Store. By installing, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

PromptForge is a prompt engineering tool that allows you to send prompts to multiple AI model providers and compare their responses side-by-side. The App connects directly to third-party AI providers using API keys that you provide. PromptForge is a client application — it facilitates communication between your device and AI providers but does not host or operate any AI models itself.

3. Your API Keys & Accounts

To use PromptForge with your own API keys, you must have valid accounts and API keys with the respective AI providers (e.g., Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, xAI, OpenRouter). You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security and confidentiality of your API keys
• All usage and charges incurred through your API keys
• Complying with each AI provider's terms of service and usage policies
• Monitoring your usage and spending with each provider

PromptForge stores your API keys securely in your device's Keychain but is not responsible for unauthorized access resulting from device compromise or sharing.

4. Cost & Billing

When using your own API keys, all costs for AI model usage are billed directly by the respective AI providers. PromptForge displays estimated costs based on published pricing, but these are approximations. Actual charges are determined by each provider and may differ. PromptForge is not responsible for any charges incurred through your use of third-party AI services.

If you subscribe to PromptForge Pro, subscription billing is handled by Apple through the App Store. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage subscriptions in your Apple ID settings.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use PromptForge in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. You will not use the App to:

• Generate content that violates any AI provider's acceptable use policies
• Attempt to circumvent safety measures or content filters of any AI provider
• Engage in activities that are illegal, harmful, or infringe on the rights of others
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Use the App in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair the service

6. Intellectual Property

PromptForge and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by PromptForge and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of the prompts you create and the outputs you receive from AI providers, subject to each provider's terms regarding generated content.

7. Data & Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. PromptForge does not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to our servers. All data remains on your device and, if enabled, your iCloud account. When you use the App to interact with AI providers, your chat messages, attached images, system prompts, and model parameters are sent directly to the provider you select. Before using the App, you must consent to this data sharing through an in-app consent screen. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for complete details.

8. Third-Party Services

PromptForge integrates with third-party AI providers. Your use of these services through our App is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. PromptForge is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or responsible for these third-party services. We do not guarantee the availability, accuracy, or quality of responses from any AI provider.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

PromptForge is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. AI-generated content may be inaccurate, biased, or inappropriate — you are responsible for reviewing and verifying all outputs.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PromptForge and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App. This includes, but is not limited to, damages from API charges, data loss, or reliance on AI-generated content. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PromptForge and its developers from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the App, violation of these Terms, or violation of any third-party rights.

12. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

13. Termination

You may stop using PromptForge at any time by deleting the App. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the App at our discretion if you violate these Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which PromptForge operates, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
