Privacy Policy

Overview

PromptForge is designed with privacy as a core principle. The app operates entirely on your device and through direct connections to the AI providers you choose. We have no servers that receive, process, or store your data.

Data Storage

All app data — including your conversations, prompts, settings, and preferences — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. If you have iCloud enabled, this data may sync across your devices through your personal iCloud account. This sync is handled entirely by Apple's CloudKit infrastructure and is subject to Apple's privacy policy.

API Keys

Your API keys for AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, xAI, OpenRouter, etc.) are stored securely in your device's Keychain — Apple's encrypted credential storage system. Your API keys are never transmitted to our servers, included in analytics, or accessible to anyone other than you and the respective AI provider when making API requests.

AI Provider Communications

When you send a prompt through PromptForge, the app communicates directly with the AI provider's API using your API keys. These requests go straight from your device to the provider — they do not pass through any PromptForge servers.

Data Sent to AI Providers

When you use PromptForge to interact with an AI model, the following data is transmitted directly from your device to the selected provider:

• Your chat messages (the text you type)
• Images you attach to messages (for models that support vision)
• System prompts you configure
• Model parameters you set (such as temperature, top-p, and max tokens)
• Your API key for authentication with the provider

This data is sent only when you initiate a request (e.g., by tapping Send). No data is sent in the background or without your action.

Who Receives Your Data

Your data is sent only to the AI provider you select for each request. PromptForge integrates with the following third-party AI providers:

• Anthropic (Claude) — anthropic.com/privacy
• OpenAI (GPT) — openai.com/privacy
• Google (Gemini) — ai.google.dev/terms
• xAI (Grok) — x.ai/legal/privacy-policy
• OpenRouter — openrouter.ai/privacy

Each provider's own privacy policy and terms of service govern how they handle the data they receive. We encourage you to review each provider's privacy policy for the services you use.

User Consent

Before you can use PromptForge, the app presents a data consent screen that explains what data is sent, who it is sent to, and how it is used. You must explicitly agree before any data is transmitted to a third-party AI provider.

Analytics & Tracking

PromptForge does not include any third-party analytics SDKs, tracking pixels, advertising frameworks, or fingerprinting technologies. We do not track your usage patterns, conversation content, or any other behavioral data.

Subscriptions

If you subscribe to PromptForge Pro, the transaction is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment information. Apple's subscription management is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.

Data We Do Not Collect

To be explicit, PromptForge does not collect:

• Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
• Device identifiers or fingerprints
• Location data
• Usage analytics or behavioral data
• Conversation content or prompts
• API keys or credentials
• Crash reports (unless you opt into Apple's crash reporting)

Children's Privacy

PromptForge is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, we will post the revised version here with an updated date. Since we don't collect contact information, we cannot notify you directly — please check this page periodically.
